About the Artist:
Kim Ivy Milai is singer and multi-instrumentalist who lives
with her husband and two children in the Washington D.C. area. Her background includes teaching general music
in the public schools for over 10 years and playing rock drums in a multitude of alternative bands in New York City
and San Francisco. Kim has a Master of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music and has produced and arranged
music for educational software products.
Show Description:
DINOBONE ON THE ROAD! Kim currently
performs a one-woman show using puppetry and electronic mallet
percussion. The keyboard-like triggering pads are played
with yarn mallets like a marimba or a vibraphone. This creates
a visually dynamic as well as an unusual show. Featured is a giant Dinobone
puppet that sings and interacts with Kim and the children in the audience.
